Title Prefix

Title Prefix is separated from Title Without Prefix to assist alphabetical sorting of Titles. Titles are sorted by Title Without Prefix.

Formal Definition

Word or words at the beginning of the Main Title which are to be ignored for the purposes of alphabetical sorting, such as the articles 'A' and 'The' .

For example, 'The' in 'The Life and Adventures of Robinson Crusoe'. Use Title Case: the first letter of the Title Prefix will always be a capital or Upper Case letter.
