I received my Ph. D. in sociology at Florida State University. I did two-year postdoctoral fellowship at Cornell University studying work and family relations from the life-course perspective. I started teaching at Grand Valley State University in 1998 and have been interested in studying marriages and families of Chinese Immigrants in the United States.
