So What is the 'Triple Bottom Line'?

In March 2003 The New Zealand Ministry for the Environment published a 66 page booklet about the importance of triple bottom lines. It appears few people have read it or even heard of it. This article provides information on what this concept is, its importance in the New Zealand school curriculum and in particular the technology education curriculum.

Kerry Lee is senior lecturer in the School of Science, Mathematics and Technology Education at the Faculty of Education, University of Auckland. Kerry has a Bachelor of Science degree from Massey University. Her Masters in Education thesis specialised in technology education. She has presented papers at numerous international conferences and was the plenary speaker on technology education at the 8th five-year planning meeting for 10 South East Asian countries at SEAMEO RECSAM, Malaysia, 2003.
